• About Us

Founded in 2024, Sandem was created out of love and betterment of the breed. I was born and raised in Georgia and fell in love with the GSP almost instantly. My first dog, and heart dog, is my border collie, but I always knew I wanted GSPs. I wanted dogs I could entertain conformation and other dog sports with, but little did I know how passionate I would become about the breed in the process. It became extremely important to me when I first considered breeding to make sure I stand by the puppies I breed and ensure they are set up for success, but also put the health and wellbeing of my girls first. I am a strong advocate for OFA health testing and promise to stand by the entire life of the puppies I breed and take them back no matter what at any stage of their life. It is important to me to give my dogs the opportunity to do what they were originally bred for: hunting. I enjoy hunting over my dogs when I can. It is important to me to prove the versatility of the GSP by participating in NAVHDA tests and AKC hunt tests. It is a lifelong goal of mine to one day finish one of my dogs to the AKC Master Hunter. The market is flooded with GSPs, and while there are a lot of really great breeders all over the country, there are also a lot of really poor ones. It is my hope and goal to help educate those interested in owning a GSP to recognize the importance of finding an ethical breeder and knowing beforehand the temperament and lifestyle requirements of owning one. I am a only a hobby breeder, so if I myself do not have an available litter or upcoming litter plans, I will always recommend another breeder friend that shares my values. I am also an active volunteer and member of the Southeast GSP Rescue that is constantly taking in new fosters and will gladly put a buyer in touch with a GSP from a foster home, should adoption be your passion instead.

  • The GSP

The German Shorthaired Pointer is an extremely versatile breed known for their trainability, endurance, and agility and are often referred to as a breed that needs “a job.” GSPs excel at nearly any sport and are excellent hunters of upland game birds and even waterfowl. GSPs are frequently nicknamed “velcro” dogs and they crave companionship. It is important they are set up for success in their new homes. While a flashy breed, they are not for everyone. I encourage anyone interested in a GSP to visit the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America’s website to learn more about the breed and what makes an ethical breeder.
